St. Clair Winery Tour - Deming 1-26-11

WOW, of the 50 plus winery's I have toured (in 3 countries) this was by far one of the best 'back of house' tours I have had (Mudgee Australia would be up there as well).  They produce a very good product, all with New Mexico grapes!  Thanks winemaker Gerard Rottiers for the top notch tour and signed bottle.   Thanks RC Deming for setting this up.... Great experience!

O.V. # 62 RC of Truth or Consequences 1-25-11

President Frances was not able to attend this day, so President Elect Deborah and Past President Mario led the meeting.  The time with T or C started off by my getting to meet infamous PDG Bill Bueler.  He had some very kind words to share and still is a vocal leader in the club!  T or C is a fun group to visit and I met some very nice folks.

It sounds like the space port is going to strongly affect this community.  Hey, a 1 hour 45 minute suborbital flight and your in Japan...... all for only $200k..... why not!

They have a good spread in the age demographic and just like all of the clubs in the district, this one has a ton of potential.  PPresident Mario and current President Frances have done a good job in leading the turnaround here.  A good club for a make up and a good time.  Keep up the good work!

O.V. #61 RC of Clovis 1-13-11

It still comes back to the people in a Rotary club.  RC Clovis has been making an impact in the community and the world for decades through a variety of initiatives.  President Brian has been a good supporter and advisor to me for many years as well (he is a fellow contractor and all around good guy).

Great turn out for this club meeting and good mix of 'demographics' in membership.  The board and the continuity of leadership that RC Clovis will have over the next couple years is impressive and character/integrity rich and I am really looking forward to what is going to happen with these folks as they create a renaissance of sorts within their club.  Thanks President Brian and RC Clovis for a great time.  Best wishes as you make 'it' happen!

O.V. #60 RC of Portales 1-12-11

President Sharon is an impressive person in and of herself let alone the club she leads.  RC Portales has led the district in attendance (as they have for the majority of the last 5 years) and is a fun club (they have won that district award too)!

This club has had it's share of 'adjustments' over the past two years, but are on track for another banner year.  Through the efforts of President Sharon and her very competent board big things are on the horizon for these guys.  Sharon juggles a lot of hats in Portales, and really has the group 'on TARGET'.  Thank you Sharon and RC Portales for your support this year, it means a lot and keep up the good work!

TP & President Sharon (also Mayor of Portales and ED of Chamber)

O.V. #59 RC of Clovis High Plains 1-11-11

RC Clovis High Plains has been on a strong rebuilding streak after a rough start to the Rotary year.  They have recovered well and I am impressed with the enthusiasm President Erinn and her team have for Rotary and their club.  There were several visitors, including a Rotarian from Plano who has been making RC CHPlains his home away from home while taking care of family business.  Thanks President Erinn, AG Burns, and the entire club for the warm reception and really encouraging visit to your club!   A good club to make up at if you are in Clovis on a Tuesday.
