O.V. # 39 - RC of Farmington Tres Rios 10-14-10

President Dr. Marty is a really nice guy leading one of the newest clubs in the District.  They are a 7am club which I appreciate, having been a member of morning clubs for more than 10 years.  They are in a growth mode and had several visitors this morning.  Tres Rios, along with the other two Farmington clubs had a GREAT reception last evening with several members represented from each club.  I am looking forward to seeing how Tres Rios looks 8 months from now.

O.V. # 38 - RC of Santa Fe del Sur 10-13-10

President John is a pretty motivated guy to begin with so heading into this club meeting I was eagerly anticipating what was to come.  A 'tenured' club with a ton of potential, there is a lot of past and present district leadership represented in this club.  Similar to what other clubs in the district are experiencing, this group is dealing with issues with meeting location and membership, but they do have the answers and are adjusting to meet the existing needs of their membership.

Leona was a riot offering up many an opinion during my talk (which I appreciated) and I believe this club is on the verge of a major turn around in the next several months.  Thank you to the Inn at Santa Fe for a great night's stay as well thanks to Helen D and Victoria B for representing your clubs and hosting me the night before.  Great time.

O.V. # 37 - RC of Los Alamos 10-12-10

President Skip is a guy after my own heart, lots of energy, gets 'it', is implementing a lot of the TARGET objectives, and has a great attitude.  He and his team are really leading the district (along with Angel Fire) in aggressive, targeted membership growth, as well as encouraging every member to play their 'part' in the process.  They have a fun membership and I am excited to see if they do finish up in the highest percentage growth by the end of the year!

Keep up the good work up there.

O.V. # 36 - RC of Espanola 10-12-10

The RC of Espanola is a neat club involved in quite a lot of things.  Besides the infamous 'Guatemala Project' that many district clubs support, they are very active for their size with what they take on, including a neat garden that they have invested hundreds of hours of hands on service for the community.  They seem motivated and want to grow.  I am excited to see where they end up 8 months from now.

The Santa Claran hotel they put me in is about four months old and was a really nice place to stay. Thanks for the hospitality, friendship, and wild Deborah stories!

O.V. # 35 - RC of Estancia 10-11-10

I met with President Michelle and her board the Monday before their largest event of the year for them:  Punkin Chunkin.  Michelle has a ton of energy... The ladies were in full event mode and I learned a lot about the 'behind the scenes' that makes an event of this size happen.  It is estimated 3-5,000 spectators will be present.  They raise 5   $1000 scholarships from this event.

I am looking forward to this Saturday when I participate as their Grand Marshall.  The place we met was the Blue Ribbon Grill and Bar.  This is a neat place in that the ownership began to realize that the demographic of their patrons changed (meaning more families and high school kids), so they dropped the alcohol out of the 'bar' and went to a soda/float bar and their business has gone up!  Good food and great concept.
