Rotary Club of Clovis

I had the opportunity to meet with the Board of Directors who gave me a wonderful presentation about a project the club is doing in Belize.  They purchase wheelchairs by the crate and deliver them to Belize.  A very special "thank you" to President Tammy Garner who took the time to give me a tour of her business, "The Master's Parable Christian Store"  and Java Loft.  The club is involved with a literacy program for the local jail, and holds an Annual Soap Box Derby.  President Tammy Garner is very passionate about Rotary and has a lot of great goals for the club this year.

We had such a wonderful time visiting!!

Rotary Club of Texico-Farwell

I'm glad I didn't bring my golf clubs to Texico-Farwell!  This club is loaded with great golfers and I'm sure I would have left with my wallet empty!  Such a great club with wonderful Rotarians.  At the end of July, they cook BBQ for both cities as a public relations event to get the word out about Rotary.  They participated with the Rotary Club of Clovis in purchasing wheelchairs for Belize.  They give out two scholarships to seniors in both Texico High School and Farwell High School.  They sent four students to RYLA.  The club donated money and equipment to the Senior Citizens Center.  They also hold two golf scrambles during the year to raise money.  President Chad Byrd has this club going strong and I know they will accomplish a lot this year.

Rotary Club of Melrose

If I had to pick one word for the Rotary Club of Melrose, it would be FUN!!  We laughed and laughed and the meeting ran way over!  Talk about making a difference in their community!  Every year for over 50 years, this club has put on a turkey shoot as a fund raiser.  They provide a scholarship to a graduating senior and they sent one student to RYLA.  They maintain the "Rotary" park in Melrose and have placed the Rotary Four Way Test on signs along US 60-84.  They have a student of the month to involve students in Rotary.   I had the opportunity to induct their newest member "Leroy"!!  (He is a mannequin).   President Jim Ridling is doing a fantastic job in keeping the club focused!

Rotary Club of Clovis High Plains

A very active club with so many community projects going on!  Every month the club packs backpacks at the food bank for school children.  They give Andy and Elmer books to 2nd graders for their literacy project.  They participate in the District Simplified Grants program.  The club sent 2 students to RYLA.  They collect all the old Rotarian magazines and place them in businesses in the community, and this is just to mention a few things they do!  President Bonnie Wright has set some incredible goals for the club and I'm sure they will acheive them all!
