Bi-District Conference in El Paso

The Bi-District Conference was held in El Paso between District 5520 and District 4110 and was a HUGE success!  A very special "thank you" to the Rotarians who set this up for us, which includes Vic Villalobos, Sandi Kahn-Carpenter, Loren Kuehne, Ron Salley and Tom Walker.  Tom Walker served as MC for the event and did a wonderful job!  Our own PRID Sonny Brown gave a wonderful opening speech!  So many wonderful projects will materialize out of the conference that will make such a difference in so many people's lives.  Great job everyone!!

Rotary Club of Hobbs

The Rotary Club of Hobbs is full of excitement and getting things done in Hobbs!  President Janna Watson is doing an incredible job keeping the club engaged and active.  I had the honor of presenting to the Rotary Club of Hobbs a certificate celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the club.  The club participates in the youth exchange program, supports the Diabetes Camp for Kids and gives several scholarships every year.  The club also supports the Boys Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, Boys Club of Hobbs and the Lea County Special Olympics.    The Rotary Club of Hobbs also holds three blood drives a year and collects food for the needy. And this is just to mention a few things they are doing!  Great job Rotary Club of Hobbs and keep up the great projects!!

Rotary Club of Tucumcari Air Show

A great time was had by all at the Rotary Club of Tucumcari Air Show.  A group of Rotarians from Washington, NJ participated with the Rotary Club of Tucumcari.  A great group of Rotarians!! Several thousand people enjoyed the show that included many types of aircraft and boothes.  A very special "thank you" to Tucumcari Rotarian Diane Morency for setting this up for Michele and I to attend.  I also would like to thank Rotarian Kevin and Nancy Mueller who put us up for the night at their motel, Blue Swallow Motel.  If you ever get a chance to stay there, please do!  The motel is wonderful, full of Route 66 history.  We truly had a great time and keep up the good work!!
